HIGAS LNG Terminal
Higas is a state of the art small-scale LNG import, storage and distribution facility in Oristano, Sardinia. Avenir LNG hold 80% of the equity and is working with established local partners Gas & Heat and CPL Concordia who each hold a 10% stake in the project. The terminal is currently under construction and will be fully operational by Q2 2021.
The HIGAS terminal is the first certified small-scale LNG facility of its kind in Sardinia. With a deep draft jetty, truck loading, regassification and connection to a natural gas pipeline network, it is strategically located to serve the region for years to come.
LNG will be stored in 6 horizonal low-pressure cryogenic tanks, with gives high availability to meet customer demand. The terminal has capacity to load up to 8,000 LNG trucks per year (equivalent to 180,000 tons per year), via 2 truck loading bays, for onward distribution to smaller LNG satellite stations. The facility is further complemented by connection to a natural gas pipeline system that will allow Natural Gas to be distributed to local industry.
